Adult Watercolor Painting Course (Beginner Friendly) Discover the beauty of watercolor in a relaxed and supportive environment. This 8-week course is designed for adults with little to no experience, and focuses on building a strong foundation while enjoying the creative process. Throughout the program, students will be guided step by step through essential watercolor techniques, learning how to control water, mix colors, and create expressive, vibrant paintings. Each class includes demonstrations, guided practice, and personalized feedback to help you improve with confidence. What You’ll Learn Basic watercolor techniques (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, layering) Color mixing and understanding tone Brush control and stroke techniques Creating simple compositions Painting from reference with confidence Course Details Duration: 8 weeks Class Length: 2 hours per session Level: Beginner (no prior experience required) Materials: $10 per class (optional, all materials provided if needed) Who This Course Is For This course is perfect for anyone looking to explore watercolor painting for the first time, or for those who want to refresh their fundamentals in a structured and enjoyable setting. Outcome By the end of the course, students will have completed several small studies and finished pieces, while gaining the confidence and skills to continue painting independently.
Cancellation Policy
NPC Art Center – Policies Applies to students ages 4 to adult. By registering, families agree to the following. Registration and Payment Registration is confirmed after payment. Course Plans (monthly, seasonal, yearly) are paid in full unless a written schedule is approved. Memberships are auto billed monthly. Refunds and Cancellations Course Plans: full refund with 7 days written notice before the start date. After classes begin, no refunds. Credits may be offered at NPC discretion. Memberships: may be paused or canceled with 30 days written notice before the next billing cycle. No partial refunds mid month. Late Join and Rollover for 12 class Courses If you enroll after the course starts, you attend the remaining scheduled classes this semester. Any unused classes from the 12 roll to the next semester. Rollover applies to the same course title in the next consecutive semester, must be used then, and expires after that term. Rollover credits are not transferable, not cash redeemable, and may not be used on other programs unless approved in writing by the campus director. Attendance and Make Ups Steady attendance supports progress. One make up per term, subject to space, used within the same term. Missed classes do not reduce course or membership fees. Attendance rules apply to current and rollover classes. Classroom Conduct Respect instructors, peers, and materials. Ages 4 to 7 must be toilet trained and able to follow basic instructions. Unsafe or disruptive behavior may result in dismissal without refund. Adults are expected to act professionally. Safety and Supervision NPC maintains a safe, inclusive environment. Children under 12 must be picked up promptly after class. NPC is not responsible outside class time. Emergency contacts are required. Materials Students may bring their own supplies or purchase the NPC Materials Package. Shared materials remain at NPC. Personal items are the student’s responsibility. Artwork and Media NPC may photograph work and classes for education or promotion unless families opt out in writing. Health and Wellness Students who are unwell must stay home. NPC may refuse participation to protect others. Inclusivity NPC welcomes all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Discrimination, bullying, or harassment is not tolerated. Liability Art activities involve minor risks. NPC takes reasonable precautions but is not liable for accidental injury or lost belongings.
